Get the party started!

Get the party started!

Hello Friends! Happy Wednesday. This week’s song choice is from my favorite artist, P!nk. She exemplifies hard work and celebration, just as you do with training. We absolutely need to get this party started! RACE SEASON IS HERE. And…my beloved Purdue Boilermakers #boilerball are playing basketball this weekend, so I am a little extra hyper and excited as I write to you.

Do you remember?

I LOVE race expos. A LOT.  If you are a newer reader to my posts, surprise! There are few things better than good expos- the energy, anticipation, nervousness, and determination is a thick undercurrent felt by everyone. As you come to our booth to talk, tell me your goals, sign up for one of our events, I will be there to encourage and cheer you on. Meeting you, learning your why is truly one of the best things about my job.

Another race…

In January I asked what your race schedule looks like. I hope you have added at least one more race because you recognized that you can push yourself just a little further. As one of my running partners said, ‘you’ve done the training, may as well use it more than once!’ She and I had so much fun with that thought process and logged a few PRs that season. My spring races began a few weeks ago. I paced the Heart Mini in Cincinnati on St. Patrick’s Day. Truth: it was incredibly hard for me to get out of my head for this race and encourage others. Participants with ‘SURVIVOR’ shirts and race bibs tugged at my own heart a little extra that day. Coming up, I’ll be running the Indy Mini and pacing The Flying Pig (13.1). Will I see you?

Air Force Marathon Staff is on the move!

Tomorrow I am headed to the Coast Guard Marathon in Elizabeth City, NC. This race kicks off the Armed Forces Series Challenge. If you’re headed there, swing by, and say hello! Chris and Jasmine are currently on their way to the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC. This is a new event for us, so please be sure to visit their booth! We are really excited to be part of both events!

It is about that time for me to get the party started and the wheels rolling. Lace up, friends! It is FINALLY time to race.
