Page - Tailwind Mascot
Hi, my name is Tailwind! I am a bald eagle and the official mascot of the Air Force Marathon. I bring energy to the start and finish lines, pose for photos with fans of all ages, and give out “high-feathers” to everyone!
The Air Force Marathon team is looking for volunteers who will serve as Tailwind throughout 2023. Tryouts will be held on Monday, March 27 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Wright State University Nutter Center. An online application must be submitted and you will be contacted with more information prior to tryouts. If you are unable to make these tryouts, we will do our best to schedule another day/time that works for you.
We are looking for energetic, interactive, and engaging volunteers! Volunteering to be a mascot is very demanding, as the environment in the costume can get warm and you must be able to stand for extended periods of time. If you are trying out for Tailwind, we recommend you bring along someone who can act as your handler so they can also learn how to help you get in and out of the costume.
