The 2010 United States Air Force Marathon is Saturday, September 18 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. A two day Sports & Fitness Exposition (September 16-17) and 5K race (September 17) will be held at the E. J. Nutter Center, Wright State University. All events are open to the public. The mission of the Air Force Marathon is to provide an outstanding running event that is fun, yet challenging for competitors of all fitness levels; providing the highest military standards of customer service in collaboration with our sponsors and surrounding community partners. The Air Force Marathon delivers the "Race with a Different Altitude," highlighting U.S. Air Force aircraft flyovers and a finish line flanked with vintage aircraft. The Air Force Marathon maintains its uniqueness by having Air Force senior leadership present each runner with a commemorative medal as they cross the finish line. For the past two years we have increased our runner registrations at a rate of 25% per year. Our goal is to continue this trend until we reach 10,000 runners. In 2009, our runners represented 50 states and 6 foreign countries with 9,969 registered runners and about 15,000 attending the Sports & Fitness Expo. Furthermore, this year we are continuing our "Down Range" marathon where deployed service men and women can participate in Air Force Marathon sanctioned events. This gives our sponsors a unique opportunity to connect with a large and global market. Our professional staff is happy to work with your company or organization to reach your marketing goals and budgets and to receive the maximum return on your investment.
