Each runner must attend the Sports and Fitness Expo as there will be NO runner registration or packet pickup on September 18, 2010.

 

Packet Pickup

Packet PIckup at the ExpoPacket Pickup will be available at the Sports and Fitness Expo.

Expo hours are noon-7:00 pm Thursday, September 16 and noon-8:00 pm on Friday, September 17. Expo is held at the Ervin J. Nutter Center

  • There will be no packet pickup on Race Day (Saturday).
  • All participants are required to show a photo id to pick up their runner's packet. Runner's packet includes bib number, safety pins for bib, chip, plastic tie to secure chip, and instructions. There is no packet pickup on race day.

  • Due to security reasons, we ask that runners make every effort to pick up their own race packets at the Sports and Fitness Expo.  A picture ID is required and we suggest you bring your runner registration confirmation.
  • Runners who are not able to pick up their packets in person must make arrangements for a representative to pick up their packets.  Your representative must present a copy of your photo ID and a signed authorization from you in order to claim your race packet, goodie bag, and chip timing device.

    NOTE: Packet Pickup representatives will be limited to picking up four race packets, including their own.

Cancellation Policy

  • Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The only exception is for military personnel who will deploy at the time of the race. Military personnel are to provide documentation of deployment to the USAF Marathon office. Runners may change to a different race if space is available. Registration fees will apply based on the date the change is made; no refunds will be allowed.

Bib Number Requirements

  • Close Up of Marathon BibAll registered runners will receive a bib number that must be worn on race day. If you are not wearing your bib during the race, you will be considered a bandit runner and will be escorted off the course.
  • The bib must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race.
  • Please fill in the necessary medical and emergency contact information on the back of the bib number. Use a pen or waterproof marker.
  • Do not alter the bib in any way.
  • Bib numbers are non-transferable and must be worn by the registrant to whom they have been assigned.

Chip Requirements

  • All registrants will receive a chip that must be worn on the shoe in order to be timed. The chip needs to be attached to your shoe; otherwise, the timing mats will not be able to record the time.
  • Awards for the overall and military winners will be based on gun time; age category winners will be determined by chip time.
  • Chip times will be used for your official running time and on your certificate of race completion.
  • Participants who own their own Champion Chip must provide this information when registering and then verify at packet pickup.
  • Fasten the chip with the strip provided with the chip.
  • Chip is non-transferable and must be worn only by the participant to whom it is assigned.
  • The chip is disposable and does not need to be returned. There are no associated fees.

Safety on Course

  • For the safety and enjoyment of all event participants, the courses are restricted to registered runners/walkers, wheelchair division participants and official race personnel only.
  • No dogs, no strollers, no baby joggers, no bikes, no inline skates, no roller skates, and no wheeled vehicles (other than registered wheelchair and official Bike EMS and Patrol Teams) will be allowed on the 10K, half marathon and full marathon courses. Strollers and baby joggers are allowed for the 5K event only.
  • Violators will be disqualified and escorted from the course by race officials.
  • For the safety of all, the use of headphones is discouraged.

Beat the Gate by 12:48!

  • RunnerThe Air Force Marathon is introducing a new “Beat the Gate” campaign for 2010. All full Marathon runners must be at or have passed the gate at Mile 21 by 12:48 pm. Runners must maintain a 16:00 pace to reach this point in 5 hours and 33 minutes. Busses will be provided at this time to transport those who did not “beat the gate” back to the Start/Finish Line area. The entire full marathon course closes at 2:15 pm.

Baggage Claim

  • A baggage claim tent will be available for all participants on Saturday, September 18th near the Start Line. All bags and persons are subject to search. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated.

Entry Restrictions

  • All carry-in items and persons are subject to search
  • All unattended bags and items will be removed from the premises
  • The following items are not allowed:
    - No Pets
    - No Coolers
    - No Glass
    - No Alcohol
