Happy Thanksgiving from all of the Air Force Marathon staff!

We have much for which to be grateful this year.  We are grateful for our runners, our volunteers, our sponsors, our spectators, our charity partners, our expo vendors, the support of base organizations and the many friends on social media.

Without our runners, there would be no Air Force Marathon. Thank you for the months you spend training hard to come out and be part of our event. Thank you for sharing your stories with us. Thank you for making our event a success!

Our volunteers are the heart of our marathon. As a staff of 6, we simply could not accomplish the many details that take place during the weekend events without our volunteers. We are grateful for their sacrifice of time and energy and resources. We function as a team with our 2,400 volunteers!

We are grateful for our sponsors. Without their support, we could not provide the beautiful medals, shirts, water, food… and many other items. The contributions they offer to the Air Force Marathon are absolutely essential to our success.

The spectators are also a part of our event we must acknowledge. From providing bacon along the half marathon route, to cheering loudly at The Fly Zone in downtown Fairborn, to families waving flags and cheering runners on in between water stops, and those who line themselves up along the finish line- all of our spectators help bring a boost to our runners, and even our staff and volunteers, at the right time, and we are so thankful for their attendance.

Charity Partners

Our charity partners bring a large amount of support and runners to the Air Force marathon as well. We enjoy learning about their causes and helping them out a little by partnering with them. But honestly, they help us just as much, with their runners and their inspiration!

Expo Vendors

We are thankful for our expo vendors, as they offer excitement to the pre-race days of the Air Force Marathon. They come from all over to be a part of the Air Force Marathon Sports and Fitness Expo, and we are thankful for their participation.

The Local Community

We must highlight our gratitude for the local community. The police and fire departments from all of the surrounding areas take time out of their schedule to come help make our event a success!  Soin Hospital volunteers much of their time and services to us. Fairborn provides entertainment and parties along the Fly Zone. To mention each of the services provided by the local communities would take pages. We are grateful for what each and every one of them do.

Wright-Patt Organizations

Last but not least, we are very thankful for the support of all the Wright Patterson Air Force Base organizations. We know we could not put on this event without all of their support. From Public Affairs to Civil Engineers and Security Forces to Communications just to name a very few, the many WPAFB organizations are a huge part of the Air Force Marathon, and we are grateful to them.

Thank you to each and every one of you who plays a part in some way in being part of our event!  You are the reason we can be successful!

-With much gratitude this year, the Air Force Marathon Staff:
